39 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

Went to the doctor today for my LAST pre baby visit! I got all of my admission papers to take to the hospital on Saturday night. =) This feels soooo real now. I am so ready and excited to meet my little love muffin! I cant beleive he will be in my arms in 5 short days!
I know that saturday night and sunday are going to be loooonnngggg but it will be well worth the wait!
Please pray for a safe delivery for my little man!

My final preggo stats. My total weight gain has varied between 20-23 pounds depending on how much fluid I am retaining that day. My belly is measuring right on schedule at 39cm and Erics heart rate was around 140 today which is normal for him =)  He is engaged in the head down position...which he has been for a while.. and I am still only 1cm dialated.

Here we are for our LAST weekly baby bump picture!

My next post will have my little mans picture! Wooo hooo! I love you all and will post next week!

=)

I was just sitting here thinking that this time next week I will either be holding my son, or be very close to doing so. There are no words...I can not wait to meet him. I love him so much and I just want to tell him that! =)

Michael and I got engaged 3 years ago today, I can not beleive our second wedding anniversary is one week from tomorrow! He has made me the happiest woman in the world for the past 8 1/2 years. I really do not know where I would be without him. He is my best friend in the entire world and makes me smile everyday! I love you, Michael and you make me a better woman. =)

Happy Sunday everyone!

12 more days!!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.
Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

So I am 38 weeks. Went to the doctor today and still only 1cm dialated and 30% effaced. So I am not making much progress. I was really hoping that he would come on his own before the 2nd but I dont think thats going to happen.....but either way I have no more than 12 days til I meet my son and I can NOT wait! I guess I will just keep up the walking and all that crap to see if I can MAYBE make him come on his own....we will see! I am feeling good.....I am tired because I have a hard time getting comfortable and I am so stinking big that I cant just roll over in my sleep....I have to wake up and roll onto my back then other side then wait til I am comfortbale again and most likely get up to pee before I fall back asleep...what a process....But its ok! I just feel like I know so many people who were just MISERABLE at this point in the pregnancy, but I really am not....I feel great, of course uncomfortable at times and stuff...nothing major. Just really ready to meet him! =)

Here we are:
Next week will be my last baby bump posting! Woo hoo!! Then it will be allllllll about my little cutie pie!

37 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

I am 37 weeks and officially considered full term! Wooooo hooo!!! I went to the doctor today. Still only 1cm dialated...no change there.....Gained another pound and a half....I am glad I didnt put on any weight in the beginning because holy cow am I gaining at the end!!? This makes a total of 22 pounds so far. I hope it comes off quickly.
I am sooooo disappointed that I didnt dialate a little more! I have been walking and on my feet a TON the last 5 days and I was really hoping that would help it along. I guess I will just keep trying and see what they say next week. It just stinks to go in and hear "you're about the same" uggghh!!! I guess you can tell I am READY to get this show on the road!? I want to meet my little man! I have LOVED being pregnant and I have no major complaints, but I am definitely ready to cash in on my hard work and kiss those little cheeks!

I am going to have dinner with Lauren and her daughter Rilynn, Stephanie and her daughter Lyla and maybe Kristi and her son Luke tonight....so at least I will get to kiss all the other baby cheeks! =)

Michael and I traded in my camry yesterday. I got a mommy car with a Michael twist....its a truck...a 2011 toyota tacoma. It is 4 door and SO nice! I was shocked that it has more room than my camry. I wanted an SUV but Michael will be the one making the payments since I am not working so I really wanted to get something that he loved as well. We are going to get one of those flat covers for the back so that I will have a covered area to store stroller and stuff.

And here are Eric and I on this lovely day..

Please keep your fingers crossed for some progress at my appointment next week!

holy cow!

real quick.....
MY SON WILL BE HERE 3 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!!!
or sooner!! but for sure in 3 weeks!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I can NOT wait!!!!

Today, I also wanted to thank our military, firemen and policemen and every single person who risks their lives every day to keep this wonderful country safe. I am praying for all of the families that lost someone 10 years ago today. Such a bittersweet day. Bitter because there is so much sadness in the hearts of americans, sweet because we stand united as a country and those heartless terrorists did not devide us. Nor will they ever. God bless this country and everyone that fights to keep us free and safe.
I will always remember. And always be thankful to live in such a wonderul country.

I love you all and hope you guys have a good week.

Update

Hello!
I went to my doctors appointment yesterday and go some good news! I am 1cm dialated (I know that I could stay like that for a month and not change, but I was excited to hear that there was something going on!) I had gained 2 more pounds since 2 weeks ago, so that is the pound a week they wanted. I am at 20 pounds total gain now. That sounds soooooo big to me...I better be fitting in my jeans for the fall! Erics heartbeat was great, he was a wiggle worm so he actually got his heartrate up while we were listening...he must have been doing his daily cardio work out =)
He is also head down still and very low. I literally think I feel him head butting me in my thighs LOL.
If he doesnt come on his own they will put me in the hospital the evening of October 1st, and start to induce, so we will have a baby on October 2nd regardless. This is exciting!! Michael and I have our second anniversary on October 3rd so we could be spending it in the hospital but we will have given eachother the most amazing gift! =)
After my internal exam yesterday I have had a few really wicked contractions. Which they said could happen. So I am hoping that means I am dialating more....I have been walking a lot lot lot and trying to stay active to help things along. I would love to go into labor on my own before they induce. We will see!

I am bummed out...we tried to hang a shelf above the crib today because I was going to out a couple cute decorations on it along with his letters. Because the letters would look so plain just hanging alone. But the dang shelf will not stay sturdy and its just a cheap piece of you know what! So now I have 4 huge sheet rock holes and nothing to cover them up above the crib...it looks like CRAP! So I am trying to figure out what to do now. I should have just spent the money and gotten a nice shelf to hang instead of the $25 special at target...Michael tried to warn me but NOOOOO I didnt want to listen. Ugh!

SO anyhow, That is my update! I am going to go for a walk now! Come on baby Eric, whenever you are ready I am game!!

XOXOXO

36 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Hello! I am feeling good....I had a ton of energy this weekend and cleaned the entire house. Today I dont have a ton of energy...but it is what it is!
Tomorrow I am going to lunch with my friend Lauren and her daughter Rilynn, and my other friend Kristi and her son Luke! I am so excited to see them all!
I go to the doctor Thursday and I am SOOO hoping that I will be a little bit dialated! I am just ready to start making some progress. I want to meet my little man and I just want to know that my body is getting ready! I will also get an induction date at my appointment. If he isnt here by 39 weeks they will induce, which I was TOTALLY against being induced at first but I am staying open minded and staying cool about everything! As long as baby is healthy!! =)

I am LOVING these temps outside by the way.....I MEAN LOVVVINNGG! LOL...even though it is raining...which we needed...it just feels amazing! I hope the temps stay cool! =)

I hope all of you are doing good!!
