I am sorry that my last post was not very nice! I was not having a good day! =)
I am feeling much better besides still not sleeping well. We had a great weekend, enjoyed the beautiful weather and cooked out with some friends. I played flip cup with apple juice while everyone else played with beer...And I was the first one to quit, saying "I can not drink anymore!" I was way too full!
Michael is in the middle of his clinicals for EMT school and was riding on the ambulance for one of his shifts and one of the ladies told him to tie my engagement ring to a shoe string and hold it over my belly and if it swayed back and forth then we are having a boy and if it goes in circles then we are having a girl. It went back and forth, so we will see!! Also this is a pretty cool little thing that my friend told me about, and apparently it worked for her and many of her friends....it is the chinese gender chart...you go to the age you were when you conceived and then to the month that you conceived..I am 23 years old, and Conceived in January...according to this too, we will have a boy. http://www.chinesegenderchart.info/ =) I would never bank on these types of things but they are fun to do.
I am making it through these new work hours pretty well so far. I am always tired, weather I get to work at 7 or 10 so it doesnt too much make a difference. I just sleep a lot once I get home.
I found some really cute little things for baby rooms while browsing online this weekend. Little growth chart.coat racks and rocking chairs and such. I can not wait to find out what we are having so that we can shop already!
Michael and I have been trying to come up with a new middle name for a girl. We were going to use "Grace" for as long as I can remember but it seems that almost everyone who is having a girl these days is using that name.. Melissa Rycroft: Ava Grace, Christina Applegate: Sadie Grace, our friend Stephanie: Lyla Grace, My friend Heather: Savannah Grace...too much! So we want to think of something a little different and are having a VERY hard time! I am open to suggestions if you guys want to give them!
We go back to the doctor on March 7th. So, one week from today! We will get to hear the heartbeat at that visit, I am not sure about an ultrasound...but I think they will probably do one while we are there. I have been really super dizzy lately, so I plan to ask our doctor about that. All of the books say that is normal, I just always like to ask the doctor so that she knows what all is going on. I am eating well, and staying hydrated. So I do not think that it is a matter of needing more food or liquids. But we will see!! I am interested to see if I have gained any weight. I will keep you all posted!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Really?!?!
Ok, with all of the smart little scientist people these days....you would think that they would have migraine medications that pregnant women could take. NOOOOO.....GUESS AGAIN!
I was in agony all night long with a migraine and nausea from the migraine. And what could I take?? TYLENOL!!! Here is a tid bit for ya....if tylenol worked for my migraines I would NEVER spend 50 bucks on 6 migraine pills....Needless to say I am tired, and unrested and angry. =( There is literally nothing in the world that I have experienced like those headaches....When they happen, I can not see out of my left eye. I can not feel on the left side of my body, and I sure as heck can not function or sleep. At least they can give me meds when I give birth right??!! I do not do pain well.
Ok, sorry for my little rant. It is just very frustrating that when you are pregnant you just have to suffer through most things. They need to make medications baby safe! Not even all of them, just some....Now I feel like I took so much tylenol that my poor baby is just swimming in Acetaminophen. Poor little baby.
Other than that, still feeling ok as far as pregnancy. Michael only gets 2 days off in the next 14 days, so its going to be a crappy couple of weeks for him. And me, because I dont like not seeing him =(
Anyways, I love you all and thank you for listening!

8 weeks
Here is our weekly update!
Yay for no more tail, and little fingers and toes starting to sprout!! =)
I am still feeling good! We have decided not to get the Nuchal translucency ultrasound done. We have not met our deductible and it is NOT cheap. So being that it is not required, we will just have to wait til 20 weeks to find out if we are having a boy or girl. =(
I am not sleeping well at night, I find that I am more comfortable with a pillow between my legs, but still not great..so I am still tired.
Love to all!
How your baby's growing:
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.Yay for no more tail, and little fingers and toes starting to sprout!! =)

Busy
So sorry that I have not updated you all in a few days! This weekend was non stop. On Saturday my life long friend Jessica's papa passed away. He was so loved and very dear to my heart. That was a difficult day for many people. Sunday, we spent the day with the Buckle family for Kristy's birthday.
Kristy and I were talking about baby furniture and I was saying how incredibly expensive it was. She told me that they got Maddox's furniture at JC Penny. I did not even know that they had baby furniture there!! It is about $500 less than any that we found at babies r us. And looking at Maddox's furniture, I could not see any major differences from the babies r us furniture! I looked online today and found 3 different sets that I really liked. Thank goodness for good friends that have kids already! It sure helps us find the best deals!
I am feeling pretty good. I have been tired again... Today, we started our new hours at work....So I have to be here at 7:30a.m. now. It has been a very very long day and with not getting much sleep this weekend, it is really wearing on me. I am sure that I will fall asleep as soon as I can make it to my couch. I did bring a pillow and blanket and laid in my back seat for about 15 minutes on my lunch break, But it was not enough! Just enough to make me wish I could sleep!
I have been having some cramping the past day or so..but nothing out of the ordinary.
Keep your fingers crossed that I can stay awake tonight to see the home town dates on the Bachelor! **My quilty pleasure is reality T.V.**
I love you all and will write again soon!

Love
Today was one of the most amazing days of my life. Seeing our baby's little heartbeat, and just little tiny self was just absolutely breath taking. Heartbeat was healthy, and he/she is 7mm long. Which they say that they are supposed to grow 1mm every week so he/she is right on schedule!
I got 5 pictures...I can not stop looking at them. I can not imagine what I will be like when I can actually see little hands and nose and things like that!
Michael and I are just so excited and it is starting to sink in that there is a little love in my belly. A little peice of each of us. And something that was created with so much love. This child is never going to have to question how much they are loved!
Oh yeah, I guess I should tell you all, THERE IS ONLY ONE BABY! Thank you Lord! As much of a blessing as 2 little ones would be, I am so relieved that there is only one! =) Now I am excited to get our next ultrasound in 5 weeks! So much will change between now and then!
Thank you all for your love and support!
XOXO

Just a song.... right?
Tomorrow is the day! We see our little jelly bean!! Actually, I guess now its a blueberry..but I can't wait!
I am at work being SUPER productive, and was looking at a news sight...and i found this link http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/the-10-most-irritating-least-helpful-parenting-tips-ever-2448391/
I thought it was pretty funny. I am sure I will feel like this on a regular basis.
I was also thinking and thought of something pretty funny. Our first dance song at our wedding has a verse in it that goes like this...
He was holding her hand when the doctor looked up and grinned
"Congratulations. Twins..."
One boy, one girl.
Two hearts beting wildly.
To put it mildly it was love at first sight.
He smiled, and she smiled,
and they knew right away
that this was the day they'd waited for all their lives.
For a moment the whole world revoloved around one boy and one girl.
So being that we get our first ultrasound tomorrow I thought I would share that with you jsut in case there are 2 blueberries in there! Or in Michaels terms..."A vine of blueberries" Although, it may be too soon to tell....but we will see! I am just eager to see the little heart beat! I can not wait to see that little living thing inside of me!
My cold is easing up a little. Still a lot of junk in my nose and head. But my throat is not awful...which is nice. Michael worked a 48 hour shift and has school tonight, so I am going on 3 days with no hubby. That makes me sad. But I guess I am lucky that he is off tomorrow right??
I will let you all know what the doctor says tomorrow!

7 weeks
My 7 week update:
The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.
If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.
See what's going on in your uterus this week.
Yay!!! I love knowing what is developing! Little hands and feet! I can NOT wait to kiss them!
I still dont feel well. But nothing pregnancy related...just that darn cold! I am trying to drink lots of fluids. But baby is starting to not like water so much....I think that is really weird...but I just cant seem to chug it like I used to. I would rather have OJ or something with some flavor. =) It seems to settle the best.

Sick
I am sick. Sore throat, head and nose congestion. And.....I can not take anything to help! =(
I am at work but feel like just sleeping.
Saturday my mom and I spent the whole day shopping! I found the baby furniture, girl bedding, and a lot of other cute stuff! We found a baby walker that is a jeep!! Michael will love that! It comes in green or pink so boy or girl they can have a little jeep to cruise around in! She got me a pair of maternity jeans, work pants and a few shirts to start my chubby clothes collection.
Only 3 more days until we get our ultrasound!! Excited!
I still have not been sick to my stomach...thank goodness for that! Tonight I plan on going straight home and laying on the couch. I want to try and get rid of this cold before it gets any worse!
Hope all of you have a great Valentines Day!!!
Will update more when I feel better!

Update
It has been a few days~ I have been slacking off! I am still feeling great! I have had some really great energy the past few days which has been a nice change. Today, I have a lot on the agenda....I plan to take advantage of my energy as long as it will last!
I have to go drop all of our tax information off with Mike's sister, then I will get to go meet Parker Brown! She is my good friend Katie's baby and she was born yesterday. Weighed in at 6lbs 13oz. I can NOT tell you how excited I am to meet that little girl! I have been excited since I found out that Katie was pregnant! =) After that I am going to lunch and window shopping with my mom. Baby baby baby..that is the word of the day. We will be looking at baby furniture and bedding and all sorts of fun little things!
According to my book, Baby E will be the size of a blueberry when we get to see him OR her next thursday! only 5 more days!!! I am so so so excited! And then in 5 1/2 more weeks we will get the Nuchal Translucency ultrasound that will look for signs of down syndrome but also be able to tell with 95% accuracy what we are having! So that has gotten us REALLY excited for the end of March to hurry on up!
My girlfriend Heather brought us a gift yesterday. It was 2 little onsies that had a fire truck on them and a little red sweater vest that has a dalmation with a fire helmet on...SO CUTE.. even if we have a girl she will be rocking them with a little skirt on her visits to daddy at work!
My dad called me yesterday, left me a message. It said "Hey momma bear, call me back" something about hearing your own dad call you momma.....makes it sink in a little bit. I can not wait to hear our little one say that word for the first time. =)
Michael is intrested in seeing how much I weigh Thursday at the doctor, he swears I have already gained baby weight.. we will see....I personally am interested in seeing how much he gains in this process! =)
I also have to get my first flu shot...Kind of nervous about that one....I have to get it because apparently the flu is really really bad when you are pregnant...but I have heard horror stories about first time flu shots making you really really sick...so Keep your fingers crossed please!
I will close for now! Love you all!

6 week Update
I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I got my weekley update today:
This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute -- almost twice as fast as yours -- and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
I am getting more and more excited every day! Our little jelly bean is growing so fast already! Already 1/4 inch long!
I did not sleep well last night, just tossed and turned all night long. So today I am very tired again.
I am trying to convince Michael to take me to get buffalo wings for dinner. They sound really really good! We will see how that pans out =)
Still would like your opinions on the boy and girl bedding that are in the earlier posts..Talk to me!

Pink
Even though we would like a boy first, I have to prepare myself that we might be buying pink instead of blue. I was looking at girl bedding today, and I found a couple. I do not want too much pink. I want girlie but not in your face like EVERYthing pink and frilly...
so I found this one http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=pink+and+brown+baby+bedding&cp=20&rlz=1R2ADFA_enUS384&wrapid=tljp1297109872376025&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=7958371893075430866&ei=f1NQTZLBDs72gAe2r6ww&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=image&resnum=2&sqi=2&ved=0CDUQ8gIwAQ#
which is different and kind of classy and prissy.
Or this one http://www.ourbabybedding.com/product/37040 which is girlie...but still cute.
What do y'all think?
Today, I am TIRED. The past 3 days I have been able to take at least one nap per day. Not today. I don't think my boss would care too much for me drooling on the desk. But I am trying to keep my eyes open and push on through the day. I am getting really excited for our first ultrasound on the 17th! Only another week and a half.
Will update more later!

Name
We finally decided on a boys name!! It has meaning and it is close to Michaels heart and I LOVE that! I will share it with you all later on.
So dinner went good last night. It was kind of different. The first get together where I was "the pregnant one"..Ya know, the one that just sat there and watched everyone else drink and have a good ole' time. But you know what? It was nice! I got to watch the people I love enjoy themselves, and I got to sit by the fire and know that I am cooking us a little baby! In my opinion, that is a good time! I actually stayed up until 11. That does not mean that I was not about to fall asleep at 8. But I made it! By the end of the night I had fallen asleep with the dog on the dog bed in the living room. Pretty interesting when your friends have to wake you up from the dog bed to tell you goodbye =)
Katie and Daehn brought a congratulations cake and Justin and Elise brought a strawberry pie. They were both AMAZING! We had baked chicken, corn, and baked potatoes. YUM.
Michael is working today and I am going to watch the super bowl at my moms. I hope my energy lasts until the game is over. (GO STEELERS) There might be a mid afternoon nap in my future! One thing is for sure, there are pigs n blankets in my future!! =)
Hope you all have a great day! I am going to make smoothies!

Energy
I am SO tired. I have been trying to clean my house for 2 days and I end up on the couch every time I start. I can't get enough sleep.
I did discover a really yummy treat though, Fruit smoothies. Nicole and I went to the store last night and got all of the fixin's for smoothies and that is what I made for breakfast. Today, I had a mango, pineapple, strawberry one. Tomorrow I think I will have strawberry and peach =) It really hit the spot and was a really refreshing breakfast. Also, really easy to get my fruits into my daily diet.
I really want to go look at nursery furniture, but again, can not seem to remember where I left my energy. We are having some friends over for dinner tonight and I really hope that I am not a complete fuddy duddy. I have no choice but to get all my cleaning done and try to take a nap before they arrive so that I can entertain. Luckly enough, I have had NO morning sickness yet. So I am truely happy for that! Maybe I will be one of the lucky ones that won't get any at all?! Wishful thinking maybe.
Our friends Lynn and Kristin welcomed their 4th boy yesterday. Mason Tyler Janes weighed in at 7lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. I can not wait to go see them. I also can not wait to experience that whole process. An absolute little blessing of our own!
Well, enough stalling.. I need to finish cleaning.
Love to all.

Pressure
Today was a good day. My appetite is still good, I got to work and then go visit with one of my closest friends that I do not see nearly enough. And to top it all off?? I got more goodies!.....Cheesecake covered with chocolate, caramel, and pecans from my husband and our wonderful family at the fire station. Adorable receiving blankets and a little elephant toy from Heather, and...A belly measuring tape, more prenatal vitamins and a due date calculator from Carla!
I feel good. Only difference is I have been noticing some pressure in my lower abdomen. No pain, just pressure. This is apparently normal because my uterus is gowing. But it did scare me just a bit this morning. I am just going to have to get used to all these little changes and strange feelings, and being that this is my first pregnancy I am sure that I will be alarmed by most of them. Lucky for me I have a mother in law who is an OB/GYN nurse and my 24 hour hotline =) The pressure has let up a lot and I feel back to normal again.
I looked at cribs online today, and sheesh..here is a little tid bit for you...baby furniture is not cheaper just because its smaller people..No siree. We will be saving for that for a few months. =) I really want a crib that converts to a toddler bed then a full size bed, that way Jelly Bean can keep it for a long time..So it really will be worth the money in the long run. I will just have to wait and break out the cost conversation when Michael has had a REALLY good day =) Ya know, when we are trying to decide weather we want to cook or order pizza, I can just slide that one in there real quick. Wish me luck!
Tomorrow is Charlies 5th birthday. (Charlie is our black lab) He is THE sweetest little thing in the world and I can not beleive that he is already 5. If time goes by that fast then our baby will be in middle school before we can blink 3 times. Crazy where all the time goes huh?
Thats it for tonight.
The cheesecake was amazing in all of its caramel and chocolate goodness. It gave me the energy to stay up and blog tonight.
XOXO

Bedding
So today I started looking at nursery bedding in my spare time. I found two really cute ones if we have a boy! These are the links...Feel free to give me your feed back. 1) http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/cci/cci6280096.html and 2) http://www.tot2teenonline.com/bedding-collections-frankie-s-firetruck-c-55_920/frankie-s-firetruck-br-9pc-baby-boy-crib-bedding-set-p-3772
For a girl, I was going to do lady bugs, but I think I will keep looking for something different. =)
I told my boss about jelly bean today. Poor guy....almost everyone that he hires ends up pregnant. Glad I drank the water =) We had a meeting today to let us know that we will be getting about 5 more hours a week. I am very excited about that because it will give us some extra play money for our little love!
My mom dropped off some goodies while I was at work yesterday....A gift set with "What to Expect When You Are Expecting" and "What to Expect The First Year" also there were 2 huge boxes of diapers, a huge box of wipes, and a Bassanet. She is a little excited! I am not complaining, I will take all the diapers I can get!!
I started reading "What to Expect When You Are Expecting" I learned that according to them I should be replacing chips with Soy chips, M&Ms with trail mix and fries with sweet potatoe chips....Does not sound too great to me. All in all though, the information is pretty helpful thus far. I will let you all know if I find out something juicy in the coming chapters.
I know I am only 5 weeks today, but I swear my pants are tighter...I had to unbutton them when I sat down today...every time. Maybe I just didnt have THAT much room to grow. But we will see how it progresses in the coming weeks and months. I will have Michael start taking belly photos in the next week or so and I will post them for you to see!
My appetite is getting better. The past week I have been forcing meals down my throat because I have not had much of an appetite. My tummy feels hungry, just do not want to eat. But today, I had no problems eating, and actually wanted to do so. Michael made red beans and rice for dinner with smoked sausage...it was very good!
That is all the news for now! Love you all...Let me know your thoughts on the bedding!

I am READY!
Went to the first doctor appointment today! I got an overload of information about the whole pregnancy process and I am SO ready to meet my little jelly bean!! Still have a short 35 more weeks before that should happen though...I will have to wait i guess =)
The doctor said that everything looks great and that since I am "special" I get to have a TON of ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy. This is a good thing for me, because I get to see the baby a lot more often then most people usually do. I am "special" because when I was 17 I had a procedure done to remove abnormal pre cancerous cells on my cervix. So, being that I had a large portion of my cervix removed they have to do ultrasounds every 3 weeks or so to make sure that my cervix is still nice and thick and shaped correctly. I am at higher risk for pre term labor because of this..but I am staying optimistic and looking forward to a nice, long, healthy pregnancy.
We get to have our first ultrasound done on Feb 17th at 9:00 a.m. We will get to see the heart beat at that time and also determine my exact due date which is October 5th as of now! I CAN NOT WAIT!! about 3-4 weeks after that when I am 11-12 weeks we will go for another type of ultrasound that will look for signs of any birth defects and such...at this time they can usually tell the sex of the baby with 95% accuracy! =)
I weighed in at a whopping 115lbs....tee hee hee....I am kind of looking forward to breaking 120 for the first time ever! I am excited to keep all of you posted on my weight gain and belly measurments! The good news is, that since I am a tiny little thing.....Doc said I can eat whatever I want as far as carbs! I love potatoes people.....and ice cream...so back off me! I CAN eat them!! (Michael, if you do not beleive me then I will give you the phone number to the doctors office...take that spinach salad and enjoy it...I will have a large order of fries!)
If y'all don't mind I will share my weekly emails about development of Baby E with you. This weeks said:
"Your baby is about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. The big development this week: Your baby's brain is beginning to grow! It develops from the neural tube, a structure that will also spawn your baby's spinal cord, nerves, and backbone. Since folic acid helps prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida, you can see why it's so important to take it while trying to conceive and early in pregnancy. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job."
So, my baby's brain is growing!! I am going to birth a baby genius! I just know it! I mean, look at me...I am pretty stinkin' smart...and with Michaels contribution of his little bit of knowledge it stands a pretty good chance right?! haha I am kidding myself...Michael is definitely the smart one =) Baby E will learn a TON from his or her daddy, as do I every single day.
I will close for now! I will blog more tomorrow!
