So I have a lot to tell you guys! I will start with the most exciting. Thursday evening after work Michael and I went to tour Northside Forsyth Hospital with our friends John and Stephanie. The tour started at 5:30 and lasted about an hour. We were almost through the whole thing when we were all standing in the hall listening to the tour guide talk about blinds or window shades when I fainted. Yep, out cold in the middle of the hall. First time in my life that I have ever fainted. I came to and there were like 5 people over me. Michael, the tour guide and some nurses. They covered my face with a wet towel and gave me water and checked my vitals. My blood pressure was very low. I drank water and juice and ate some crackers. I felt fine after just a little dizzy and shaken up. And of course worried because I fell..and I worried about baby. Either way, I had not eaten anything for several hours and had been standing for a long time and was dehydrated so all of that mixed together caused my passing out.
I talked to the mid wife after my little event and she advised me to come in the next morning so that they could just check baby really quick. I went in on Friday morning and baby's heart sounded great. They gave me a very stern talking to about how I need to drink WAAAYYY more fluids every day and I need to snack frequently on high protein snacks between meals. They said to never go more than 2-3 hours without eating something. So I have to change my eating and drinking habbits a lot. And have been doing good this weekend. I definitely do not want that to happen again!
So, needless to say our tour of the hospital was quite interesting. My new nick name from Michael is "tater" because apparently I fell like a sack of potatoes..nice..
I am fine now, just sore from the fall, my hip is bruised and neck and shoulders hurt...but as long as baby is good then I am good! =) I plan on sticking to my strict diet requirments and giving him what he needs. It is just takin some getting used to because I have never been a big snack person or very good at drinking fluids through the day. So I am adjusting. So many changes!
On a happier note, I finished my registry today! I started it online and then went in the store today to finish up. It was so exciting! All the little boy stuff! I am soooo stinking excited!
